We will continually improve our environmental performance through a systematic approach to setting environmental objectives and targets, implementation of management and monitoring procedures and objective evaluation of performance against our targets. Sorby Management Pty Ltd is proposing to develop the Sorby Hills Silver Lead Zinc Project 50km north-east of Kununurra, Western Australia.

The proposed action has been referred under the EPBC Act and has been determined to be a “controlled action” with the following controlling provisions:  listed threatened species and communities (section 18 & section 18A) and listed migratory species (section 20 & section 20A).

The final documents were made available for Public Comment until 6th May, 2025.  The documents include all relevant documentation associated with the referral and provide a supplementary assessment of impacts for Gouldian Finch (Erythrura gouldiae), Australian Painted Snipe (Rostratula Australia) and Northern Crested Shirke-tit (Falcunculus frontatus white).

The Public Comment period recently finished for this Project, with no comments received on the Project.
