October 27, 2022

Highlights

  • Boab Metals (ASX:BML) has successfully concluded the phase VI drilling program at its 75% owned Sorby Hills joint venture project.
  • The drilling expedition included 28 reverse circulation drill holes.
  • The drilling has confirmed mineralisation at Beta and Norton deposits as well as extending the mineralisation envelope at the Beta deposit.
  • The company also completed its maiden drilling program at the Eight Mile Creek tenement.

Western Australia (WA)-based exploration and development player Boab Metals Limited (ASX:BML) has successfully completed its phase VI drilling program at the Sorby Hills Lead-Silver-Zinc joint venture project in WA.

The drill program included cumulative drilling of 3,020m across 28 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes, including a few that were precollared by mud rotary drilling and completed with RC drilling.

Drilling program’s objectives:-

The drilling program’s main aim was to facilitate an increase in the proportion of the Beta and Norton deposits categorised as ore reserves.

The program’s other objectives were as follows:

Also, the company has submitted approximately 1,700 drill samples to Intertek Laboratories in Darwin for a broad spectrum of elemental analysis, including lead, silver, and zinc analysis.

Drilling program’s outcomes

Beta deposit: The drilling expedition included 18 drill holes for a cumulative length of 1,800m of mud rotary and RC drilling.

Geological logging backed by portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) testing established that the mineralisation intervals intersected in the targeted stratigraphic interval provide strong support to the resource model for future resource estimation.

Additionally, the data resulted in notable extensions of the lateral continuity of mineralisation that are open for further expansion drilling.

Boab expects the results to positively impact the project’s future resource estimates, provide an upside to the resource classification, and assist in the inclusion of a higher proportion of the Beta mineral resource into the future ore reserves.

Norton deposit: The drilling program consisted of six holes drilled for ~700 m. All the holes have intersected mineralisation inside the target horizon. The mineralisation of a few prominent zone intervals was confirmed by pXRF.

Eight Mile Creek: The drilling program over the tenement included four RC drill holes over two traverses, each including two drill holes across gravity lineaments.

pXRF indicated the presence of several short intervals of elevated base metal mineralisation. The company has sent selected samples for assay.
